HOW IT WORKS
Know what the result means.
- [01]
Choose
Select four to eight words and a separator. More independently selected words increase the search space.
- [02]
Generate
The browser selects from the EFF long wordlist using its cryptographic random-number generator.
- [03]
Store
Copy the result into a trusted password manager. Generate a different phrase for every important account.
READ THE LIMITS
A signal is not a verdict.
- Generate a new phrase here; never paste an existing password into a website for testing.
- A passphrase can still be exposed by phishing, malware, reuse, or insecure storage.
- Use a unique passphrase for each account and enable strong multi-factor authentication when available.
- The estimated entropy describes the generator's selection space, not every real-world attack path.
